Solar Flare: Oil on Linen 24 X 48 Oil on Linen. 24 X 48 Around the corner from my house, there are two Aderondack chairs that sit, mostly unnoccupied. They danced in my imagination for some years prior to that ipiphonal moment, when I felt a strong need to take my thoughts to my studeo. This piece is a favorite of mine up to this point in time. I wonder about the people who don't occupy them, yet they chose to paint them a sparkling red. I always stare at those chairs as I pass. I look at the chipped paint...and I wonder. I want to think happy thoughts about them and feel, perhaps the people who own them sre outsitde watching the stars and planets, when I'm not around.

This Aderondack chairs hae been sitting, unoccupied for years. I've always slowed doen to think about it and create stories around it as it sits next to another. They are clearly old in reality. Roughly three years later I decided I was ready. This painting was very challenging. When at last I'd finished, framed it, hung it--I felt great.and possible the beginning of a series. Then (since I don't watch TV, I saw ads showing Aderondack chairs. I was horrified and saw my series go up in smoke. Little plastic Aderondacks for kids, etc... I'll continue to paint these but willl use different chairs. This happened to me once before with a different series. Perhaps I'm a visionary...lol.
